Inspiration
A difference between the Lord and his enemies is that the Lord destroys his enemies completely (Psalm 9:3–6) while God lives forever on His throne. In David's writings, he acknowledges that God is, has been, and always will be the supreme authority over the universe. It is important to note that while Jesus was ministering on earth, He displayed divinely perfect judgment, which was rooted in perfect knowledge.
Similar to David, we rejoice to know that the day will soon come when God will avenge the blood of His people and fight the evil of the wicked. In some cases, however, we are left wondering why God does not work in the manner we expect, or we lose sight of His omnipotent power and never-failing grace. Often, we wonder whether the arm of God is equally quick to defend the fatherless and widows of our day as it was in those dim and distant times of King David.
However, our God has remained the same yesterday, today, and forever. His righteousness endures forever; he is unchanging and changeless. It is the Lord Who has established His throne in judgment, and it is His sovereign authority that rules over all. His justice will be administered to the oppressed and to all those who place their trust in Him.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for providing such wonderful encouragement through the Word of God. My praises go out to You because Your day is coming to judge the ungodly in righteousness. Please help me to keep my eyes on You regardless of my personal difficulties and dangers. With every passing day, may my faith in Your Word be strengthened as I continue to prove Your faithfulness to it.
In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
