10 mins a day, closer to God.
Truth is the elixir of life. Without truth, things fall apart. God is truth and the foundation of all truth. Without Him, everything falls out of place. Anything that loses its roots in the eternal counsel of God automatically becomes false. What God has not said or doesn’t stand for is simply deceit. A lie is a rebellion against the counsel and person of God. This is what makes deceit so unacceptable to God. Whenever a lie arises, it is a direct violation of God’s eternal existence because God is all about truth, and He made all things and sustains them by the truth of His word. Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue is but for a moment. This is a revelation of what deceivers and liars are liable to get. God only rewards those who dwell in truth and live by it. We can also understand this verse to mean that the generations of the righteous who have their paths guided by truth in speech and action will outlive those who have their minds bent on deceitfulness. You must allow the truth of God’s word to guide you in all that you do. The truth of God’s word is what inspires us to be who God created us to be – people in His image and likeness. Let lies depart your lips and be like your heavenly Father in all you do.
Thank You, Lord, for another day to serve You in spirit and truth. By the power of the Holy Spirit, I pray You help me to depart from iniquity. I pray You help me set a watch over my tongue that no lie and evil speech will proceed from my mouth. Spirit of truth, help me tame my tongue and live with integrity in my actions. Help me not to be intimidated into keeping a false appearance of lies and deception. May I live in the truth always. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Deuteronomy 32:4
He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.
Job 27:4
My lips will not speak falsehood, and my tongue will not utter deceit.
2 Corinthians 13:8
For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.
