What is wisdom? It can be understood as the application of knowledge in a profitable manner. While this is true about wisdom, there is something else to know about it. The Bible speaks about two kinds of wisdom – the wisdom of God and the wisdom of the world. The wisdom of the world is also called the wisdom of man. It is sensual and temporal. This wisdom is what men live their day-to-day lives with. They make decisions based on what they feel and from what they have known by experience. This wisdom will get results but can only go so far. However, there is another type of wisdom that is not natural or born in this world. It is God’s wisdom. God’s wisdom is the divine intelligence of God. It is the power of God that formed the heavens and the earth and everything God has made. It is the wisdom that confounded the princes of darkness, and they never saw what was coming next after killing our Lord, Jesus. The wisdom of God is undefeatable, unyielding, and superior to every form of intelligence. With the wisdom of God, we can know things that no human should know. With God’s wisdom, we can move in power and do supernaturally. And the best part is that this wisdom is available to all who ask God. He gives freely the wisdom to confound the world and its systems. When you receive the wisdom of God, it works knowledge and understanding in you for great exploits.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your love and grace. I plead that You give me Your wisdom that will enable me to chart a course of victory and dominance. I pray that Your wise ways are revealed to me as I put down the foolish wisdom of the world and walk by Your divine wisdom. Help me walk in the paths that are not common to the experiences of men as I shine for Your glory. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
1 Corinthians 3:19
For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.
Proverbs 1:5
A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels.
Proverbs 3:7
Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
Proverbs 8:11
For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.
