10 mins a day, closer to God.
Life has its ups and downs, but the righteous will not remain down for long. There is no assurance in Scripture that followers of God will be free from earthly hardships. It does, however, promise that any pain experienced by a believer will be temporary. Despite the suffering, they will not perish like the wicked. As King David demonstrates, diseases, faults, failings, and grievous sins may cause us to stumble and sin. Believers, however, who are followers after God's own heart, who trust the Word of the Lord, will not be overcome by sin even if they do fall into it. Because God has promised to be their refuge and strength, they should not be afraid. Our steps are ordered and established by God our Savior, who is our heavenly intercessor after we have been eternally saved through grace and faith. Even though we may fall into sin from time to time, our heavenly Redeemer has assured us that we will not be overwhelmed. Our Father has assured us that He will hold us steady and guide our steps, and it is His pleasure to see each and every one of His children prosper.
Dear Heavenly Father, please allow me to delight myself in You, to trust You implicitly, and to commit my ways to You completely. I pray that I will not be overwhelmed since You promised to hold my right hand. Thank You, Lord, for keeping me in Your hands. May Your divine grace keep me from falling, and may the way I go and come be established by You from this day forward and forever. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
