Inspiration
Waiting is one of the most challenging experiences in life we face as humans. We all know how uncomfortable it is to wait, not knowing what is going to happen or when it is going to happen. Do you know why this is a difficult thing for us to do? It’s because we lack the power to control that situation at the time, so the only thing left to do is wait. Honestly, this is not a position we want to be in.
One of the greatest shareholders in the formation of man is pride. The pride of man is for us to always be in control and have the ability to decide outcomes. People who crave autonomy and control are the driving force behind most of the power struggles in politics and government. As much as we wish we could pray this away, patience is a non-negotiable component of hope. It is impossible to have hope without patience. They must work hand-in-hand.
This is how we hope for what we do not see. We wait for it with patience, trusting in God rather than entertaining an injured ego that lusts to control every outcome. When it is God we want to receive from, we must be unashamedly humble enough to say, “I’m waiting on God,” regardless of who we are and what we have. We must let God take the place of enthronement and be the one who decides the outcome. This is how to hope in God. We cannot see what is to come, so patience is our best chance of receiving it. You must learn to wait for God with patience.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for life. I thank You for the things You have given me. I thank You for Your love, mercy, and kindness toward me and my family. Thank You for answering my prayers and providing my needs according to Your riches in glory. There are many other things I am hopeful of, and I pray for You to grant me the grace to patiently wait for You. Help me not to run ahead of Your will for my life. Help me not to stray out of the paths of righteousness in a rush to get what I think seems slow to come. Keep me under the shadow of Your wings.
In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
