Usually, humans tend to have this mindset of self-sufficiency and dependence. A person's arrogant attitude can be attributed to their accomplishments, possessions, prestige, and even strong network of relationships. Our ability to create, innovate, and come up with solutions to certain problems gives us the belief that we own ourselves and can determine our outcomes in life. However, there will be a time in our lives when we are faced with insurmountable difficulties that defy who we think we are and what we associate with. We come to the realization of God’s existence and admit that we don't always have the answers. We are made to rely and depend on God for everything. He should be our first resort in times of trouble. Our hope of salvation should be in Him because it is better to place our confidence in God than in men of influence. We are to approach God for help in faith that He exists and can do what He has promised. We are sure that He will hear and answer us. Our hope in Him will help us wait on Him till the time of our salvation.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for being my safe haven in times of trouble. Thank You for showing up every time I'm in need. Forgive me for the times I placed my confidence in my abilities and acquisitions. I am sorry for putting my trust in humans like me. I realize the failure of the arm of flesh and admit I am helpless without You. I choose to put my trust in You for everything. I will put You first in all my dealings. While I wait for Your deliverance, my faith in You will not waver. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
Psalm 31:15
My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.
Psalm 145:15
The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food at the proper time.
Isaiah 30:18
Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy.
James 5:8
Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
