Inspiration
Many times, we forget the negative implications of unforgiveness. Yes, when we refuse to forgive those who have erred against us, not only is our relationship with them at risk, but We also have to bear the consequences of a broken relationship with our heavenly Father.
When you refuse to forgive, you must remember that Your forgiveness always depends on it. If you do not forgive others for their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also withhold forgiveness from you.
We must be careful about our daily conduct. Some people want to believe they have the right to withhold goodness and mercy from others but are always deserving of it from God. Don’t think because God is love, He will break His own principles. A principle such as this one will hold even with the fullness of mercy God reserves.
When you give mercy, God gives you mercy too. You must learn to forgive others, not just for them but for yourself. You must learn to be minimal with offense-keeping and let the love of God take absolute control of your being. Remember you have been recreated a love-being, that you may love just as your Heavenly Father.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, give me the grace to neglect offenses. Help me give forgiveness to everyone, both deserving and non-deserving, every time. Help me keep a heart of love for all people just as You do. I know that Your love has been poured into my heart. Help me not to resist the flow of love as the Holy Spirit prompts me. I am open to all You lead me to do, Lord. Before reacting emotionally when I feel offended, I will seek Your guidance first.
In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
