10 mins a day, closer to God.
At times, we are grieved by all the evil sweeping the world and the terrible atrocities committed by wicked men. Our sadness stems from the fact that they are never held accountable for their wrongdoings or punished for their evil acts. Often, we wonder why things are so unjust in the world and long for a day when the unrighteous will be held accountable, and the wicked will be judged according to righteous standards. In Scripture, a horn represents great strength. In his praises, the psalmist Asaph expressed his certainty that God would judge the world with justice and equity at His appointed time. There is no doubt in his mind that Yahweh will one day judge the world in righteousness and condemn the wicked ways of the unrepentant and fallen. As with Asaph, we can be confident and certain that the horrific atrocities perpetrated by wicked men throughout history will never come to pass. In God's perfect timing and in His perfectly precise manner, the actions of wicked men who are so grievous to us will be held accountable for their unjust actions.
Dear Heavenly Father, I praise and thank You for the comfort I gain from the Psalms of praise. I do this in recognition of Your Word of truth. Lord, thank You that You are a God of justice and love and that there will be a day when You stand up as Judge of the earth and set everything right. Thank You that evil men's strength will one day be cut off, and Your people will be raised up. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
