Everyone loves to be associated with persons of impeccable character. Even a man with the worst kind of attitude would prefer to be around someone with a better nature than he is. It seems to be a natural thing for us to desire and admire good things or virtues. The success of any relationship depends on the attitude of the individuals involved. The productivity of an organization is dependent not just on the capabilities of employees but also on their individual character. Whether a marriage will work or not depends on the character of both parties. The virtues we seek out are usually not inherent because they are not a part of the nature of sins. One might boast of being a moralist and justify that one is good; however, the Scriptures say there’s no perfect, just, or good person except God. The sinful nature of man is not capable of producing a godly character. These virtues or character can only be the resultant effects of the Holy Spirit working on a man. As believers, we are the salt of the earth. We are expected to flavor the world around us with the culture of God’s kingdom at work in us. Let the Spirit of God work out these godly virtues in us so that unbelieving people will see our good works and that God will be glorified when people come to Him.
Dear Heavenly Father, as I renew my mind daily in Your Word, help me transform my character into the likeness of Jesus. As I yield myself to obeying the instructions of the Holy Spirit, I am rid of bad behavior. Empower me to be godly in my character through Your righteousness in me. Help me submit to the authority of Your written word and in obedience to the working of the Holy Spirit in my life. May You provide me with the strength to go through the pruning process so that I can yield more fruit for the kingdom. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.

Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.

And be kind to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
