10 mins a day, closer to God.
It was David's conviction that his enemies could not topple him from his earthly throne because God sat on the throne of heaven. It is true that the enemies may have been powerful, but the Lord is all-powerful. Furthermore, nothing is hidden from His all-seeing gaze. Clearly, he could see what the wicked were up to. Their evil acts were believed to be hidden by the Lord, but He saw their wickedness and would punish them for it. Indeed, the Lord resides in His holy temple, and He reigns from His throne in the heavens. He is the sovereign ruler of the kingdom of men, and his eye closely examines the actions and activities of all humanity. He is the source of our strength, for His grace is sufficient for every eventuality in our everyday lives. Those who place their trust in the holy name of the Lord will find the Lord faithful and true to His precepts and promises. The life of David was filled with wars and violence, crimes and corruption, terrors and temptations, rejections and betrayals, just as ours is. Similarly to David, we face the possibility of our nation's and society's godly foundations crumbling into disrepair. Following the example of King David, we can learn how to put our trust in the Lord despite the circumstances of life.
Dear Heavenly Father, it is only in You that I place my trust. Your throne is indeed fixed in heaven, and Your eyes indeed are watching and testing the children of men. My eyes are fixed on You as I watch the inevitable economic collapse, massive political struggles, outrageous atrocities, national and international unrest, and a move to outlaw everything good and righteous. You are my guardian and protector, my rock and my fortress, and I trust in Your unfailing Word. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
Psalms 9:7
But the LORD shall endure for ever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment.
Hebrews 1:5
For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
Exodus 20:2
I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
2 Chronicles 26:5
And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper.
