An unsaved man is capable of doing anything, even when we think he is old enough to differentiate between good and evil. The nature of sin makes it impossible to do good because it compels those who are under its captivity to do its bidding. When we turn to Christ, our spirits are renewed, but our old way of life remains the same. This is because our souls were not renewed upon conversion. So, it is our responsibility to cooperate with the Holy Spirit to educate our souls in the ways of righteousness and godliness. Scripture informs us that we are no longer bound by the law but free from the compelling power of sin, which is strengthened through the law. Many believers, however, are indifferent to being transformed. Instead, they go about abusing the grace of liberty they have in Christ. This grace, by which we were saved, shows us how to live a life that honors God and rejects all forms of worldliness. It is a great misconception to believe that this grace encourages us to continue in sin and get away with it because our sins are being forgiven, but it actually teaches us to unlearn sinful and godless ways of living. It instructs us on how to be temperate in all things and live a life pleasing to God.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your grace that saved me from the dungeon of darkness and sin. I bless You for saving me just the way I am, crude and unrighteous. I thank You for the transformative work of the Holy Spirit, which made me a new creature inside out. Father Lord, I pray for the grace to live a life that pleases You. Give me strength to reject worldly lusts and lead a life that is devoted to serving You as a freeborn. Empower me with the Holy Spirit to overcome my old ways of living and to live a holy life. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.

Psalms 37:3
Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
Psalms 145:17
The Lord is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works.
