Jesus' sacrifice on the cross was not performed arbitrarily. God did not invent it in response to history's unfolding events. As Peter writes, Christ was known before the foundation of the world. In the eternity past, Jesus existed as God, whose blood would cover the sins of all those who receive salvation. The birth, life, death, resurrection, and return to the Father were all part of God's plan to save us. Christ's redemption for humanity was not an afterthought in response to man's sin, but it was planned before the creation of the world. The fall of Adam did not take God by surprise, for Christ was the Lamb, foreknown to be slain from the foundation of the world. When God breathed the breath of life into Adam, his plan of redemption for mankind was already firmly in place. This shows us that God's plan of redemption is sovereign, certain and eternal. For 4000 years, God prepared for the birth of His only begotten Son, Jesus, as the propitiation for our sins. It was at the end of the dispensation of the Law that Jesus was sent from heaven to earth to fulfill His Father's plans and purpose for humanity, whom He had formed in His own image and likeness, out of the dust of the earth.
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your ultimate redemption of humanity through Jesus Christ, foreknown before the foundation of the world. I confess that I believe in Jesus as the propitiation for my sins and the only way to salvation. I am grateful for Your plan of redemption that was firmly in place before the creation of the world and that You sent Jesus at the end of the dispensation of the Law to fulfill Your purpose for humanity. I pray that my belief in Jesus continues to grow stronger and that I may live a life that honors You. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.

But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
John 6:51
I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
Psalms 118:22
The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.
1 Corinthians 10:4
And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
