Inspiration
In this verse, the writer of Hebrews quotes Psalm 110:1 to show that Christ is not just any angel, but is seated at the right hand of God the Father, in a position of supreme authority and power. The verse emphasizes the superiority of Christ to the angels, affirming His divinity and sovereign rule over all things.
Indeed, it was the humble and meek Son of Man who, by His sacrificial death and glorious resurrection, established the earth and formed the heavens from the beginning. And a day will come when the heavens will pass away with a roar, the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and all the works done on it will be laid bare. The Son Himself will fold them up like a garment, and they will be replaced by a new heaven and a new earth.
At this very moment, the Christ Jesus is seated at the right hand of God the Father in heaven, awaiting the day when He will return in power and great glory, for He is the Almighty God. He is the only Prince of Peace, the Messiah of Israel, and the Savior of the world. He alone died and rose again, triumphing over Satan, sin, death, and hell.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, I am in awe of Your sovereign power and the majesty of Your Son, who sits at Your right hand in heaven. I praise You that Jesus Christ is worthy of all glory, honor, and praise, for He alone is the Savior of the world. I pray that You would help me to remember that everything in this world will one day pass away, but Your Son's kingdom will endure forever. May I live my life in a way that honors and glorifies Your name, and may I look forward to the day when Your Son returns in power and great glory.
In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
