What is Christianity without unity? Take out agreement, oneness, and love, and you’re well on your way to defining another world religion. If the Godhead has remained united throughout eternity, then those who claim to be led by them must also remain as they are. When it was time to create man, God said, “Let us…” It was a collective decision made in agreement. They walk together, have never been independent, and never will be (Genesis 1:26). This is exactly what believers must master in the walk of Christianity. The fruit cannot be different from the tree. If we say we belong to God, then we must follow His way of unity with one another. As believers, we are called to love each other. Just as the Father loves the Son, so must we allow the same Spirit of love to overflow our hearts (John 3:35; 5:20). His love has been poured into our hearts and only awaits our expression of it. (Romans 5:5). We must also be kind and humble to one another. These are the byproducts of love. Pride has no place in the lives of believers. God will always debase the proud but lift the humble with all eagerness. Your kindness to the family of believers is essentially your show of true Christianity. If the Spirit of God has these properties and He lives in us, then we must also be able to manifest them as people possessed by God’s Spirit.
Dear Heavenly Father, help me obey Your word. Help me to show love and kindness to the brethren as well as to the world around me. Let me detest pride as I lead a humble life in my interaction with the world around me. Help me guard my heart and never be the cause of disunity among the brethren. Instead, it helps me to always walk in understanding with others, keeping the unity and bond of fellowship always. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
Jude 1:22
And of some have compassion, making a difference.
Colossians 3:12
Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
1 John 3:17
But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
Matthew 9:36
But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
