At certain times in life, we must have done something that got us into trouble. It might have happened at home, at school, or at work. People who have been in precarious and unpleasant circumstances in life and lived to tell the tale would understand the feelings of that experience. Imagine being accused at work of a crime you didn't commit, losing your job, losing respect in your workplace, and possibly losing your reputation. It can be a harrowing experience for the victim who will be hoping to find a means of escape from that situation. Life will put us in certain unpleasant situations, some of which may seem overwhelming. During times of trouble, we often feel hopeless, helpless, and weak. When we find ourselves in trouble, it is reasonable to seek help from God, just like the Psalmist. We should call upon the Lord and trust Him to come to our rescue. When we leave the matter in God's hands, He will vindicate and deliver us. Then will our mouths be filled with praise, songs of victory, and of relief from the hands of the enemy.
Thank You, Lord, for being my shield of defense. I praise You for protecting me from the hands of my enemies. Father, help me keep my trust in You and in Your power to rescue me from trouble. Let me not become a prey to my enemies. Save me by Your right hand and deliver me from the snare that has been prepared to catch me. Make my enemies confounded and ashamed, and let me celebrate victory over them in Jesus' name. Amen.
Psalm 143:1
Hear my prayer, O Lord, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness.
Jeremiah 33:3
Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
Matthew 6:9
After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Matthew 6:10
Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
