If there’s one thing that we humans are good at, it’s complaining. If you want, you can find anything to complain about. Let’s face it; in a world that’s riddled with sin, there is an endless list of things that we can murmur about and feel dissatisfied with. However, that’s not how we are called to live as people of Christ. Nonbelievers don’t believe that God exists, and the only testament that they have of His character is how it is shown through the Christians that are around them. If the Christians who are around them only grumble, murmur, and complain about the world all the time, just like unbelievers, why should they believe that God exists? Therefore, we should live and act in a way that demonstrates the hope we possess. We should be people of hope, people of optimism, and people who do all things without murmurings and disputings. People should see God in the outlook that we have on the world. Next time you feel like complaining, remember that God holds all things in His hand. Nothing is going on in your life or in the world that God is not sovereign over. He will work all things out in the end.
Dear Heavenly Father, I am sorry for all the times that I complained and grumbled in my daily life. I find many things to be dissatisfied with, but I forget that You are the only One in my life that can bring true satisfaction. So, I pray that You would continue to help me focus on You alone and that I would be able to see Your goodness in the world despite the things that I would like to complain and murmur about. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
Matthew 3:15
And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.
Psalms 5:8
Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.
Psalm 34:17
The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
1 Peter 3:12
For the eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers.
