Do you ever feel overwhelmed by the innumerable things that are going on in your life? In the bustling, busy world of today, it can be extremely easy to feel overwhelmed, anxious, and unorganized. Even worse, when we feel overwhelmed, anxious, and unorganized, it makes it much easier to forget about how God fits into it all. We get so wrapped up in what’s going on around us that we lose sight of the One that sustains us through it all. In this verse in Philippians 4, Paul calls us to a better way of living. He says that we shouldn’t be anxious or too careful about everything that goes around us. Instead, we should offer everything up to God through prayer, letting Him know what we need. This may sound easier said than done, but we truly need to start having the right perspective on prayer. It is our greatest tool and weapon to wield against sin, misdirected focus, and anxiety. When we take the time to lift all things up to God, making our requests known to Him, we are not only letting go of anxiety and worry, but we are also recognizing God as the One who is sovereign over it all. So, the next time you feel overwhelmed or anxious about life, stop and take some time to pray to God. It doesn’t have to be long or complicated, but ask Him to help you and talk to Him about everything that is going on in your life. You won’t regret it!
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for being there for me at all times. Thank You for the fact that I can pray anywhere and at any time, and You hear me and listen. Thank You for actually caring about what is going on in my life, and thank You for always listening and taking care of me. I pray that whenever I feel anxious, I will come to You and give everything over to You as Your Word calls me to do. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
Matthew 6:9
After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
1 John 4:15
Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
Psalms 6:9
The LORD hath heard my supplication; the LORD will receive my prayer.
Psalms 54:7
For he hath delivered me out of all trouble: and mine eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies.
