Fighting life’s battles can be emotionally draining and sap one's strength. If you have ever had to face a situation that defies human solution after several attempts, then you would know that human capacity has an elastic limit. Life plunges us into unpleasant situations that we cannot bear or handle, leaving us feeling dejected, helpless, and hopeless. Believers are not exempt. Knowing and serving God does not make us immune to distressing circumstances. We pass through certain events that might make life lose its meaning or tempt us to renounce our faith. We become incapacitated, having no power of our own to withstand the challenges we face. As believers, we have God as our present help in times of trouble, as well as our source of strength. There are situations we go through in which God delivers and rescues us, but He can allow some to persist so as to refine us and transform us. He gives us strength in times like this to persevere and keep faith, whether we are being persecuted or suffering loss. While we are going through these hard times, God can give us peace even in the midst of chaos and adversity. Our minds are at rest because we know that God is with us and He is working things out for our good.
Dear Heavenly Father, I praise You for all the blessings You have poured out on me. Thank You for the benefits I enjoy because of the mercy You've shown me. Thank You for fighting my battles for me and giving me victory over my enemies. Strengthen me with Your Spirit so that I have the spiritual stamina to stay strong in hard times. May I receive the grace to patiently endure every trouble life throws at me. Give me peace so that I will not be perturbed or troubled by what happens around me. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.

Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
