10 mins a day, closer to God.
As Christians, we are called to live lives of self-control and patience. We are called to resist the temptations of this world and to focus our hearts and minds on God's will for our lives. This is not an easy task. It requires sacrifice and discipline. It requires us to let go of the things that hold us back and embrace the greater good that God has in store for us. However, as we are reminded by this verse, our true strength does not lie in our ability to conquer others or take what we want by force. Instead, true strength comes from within, from our ability to control our own desires and impulses. In our pursuit of excellence and success, we must remember that true success is not measured by the things we acquire or the status we achieve. True success is measured by our ability to love others, to serve others, and to follow God's will for our lives. We must be willing to let go of our own desires and surrender ourselves to God's plan for our lives. Abraham was willing to sacrifice his beloved son, and God sacrificed His Son for us to come into His glory. Nothing should be so big, important, or pleasurable that we cannot lay down for Christ. Let us strive to be patient and self-controlled in all things and surrender ourselves to God's plan for our lives. By doing so, we will find true strength and success in this life and in the life to come.
Dear Heavenly Father, I come before You today, humbly asking for Your help in developing self-control and patience in my life. Help me to resist worldly temptations and focus on Your plan for my life, even when it requires sacrifice and discipline. Grant me the strength and courage to let go of the things that hold me back and embrace the greater good that You have in store for me. I pray that You would guide me and give me the wisdom to discern Your will for my life. Help me to surrender myself to Your plan and to trust in Your perfect timing and provision. May Your will be done in my life, and may I find true strength and success in following You. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
Ephesians 4:31
Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
Colossians 3:8
But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
Proverbs 14:17
He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated.
Ephesians 4:26
Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath.
