10 mins a day, closer to God.
This particular verse emphasizes the fact that we can be secure. As Christians, we can be confident that God's purpose for us has always been to become like Christ. Prior to our birth, God had planned our entry into His family. As God knew about us before we were born and arranged for our salvation, He is no doubt aware of our trials and sufferings today. He is also aware of what lies ahead. This should provide us with great comfort during our wait for eternal reassurance from our Heavenly Father. You and I were foreknown to God whether we would place our trust in the death, burial, and resurrection of His only begotten Son. He preordained thousands of years ago that our old sinful nature would die to self, leading to our new life in Christ Jesus, being transformed into His likeness. In His perfect, glorified manhood, God foreordained and predestined that all who are saved by grace through faith will become just like Christ. Throughout His whole life, Jesus depended entirely upon the Father, and His entire character reflected the image and likeness of the Father. Similar to Christ, we who were once dead in our trespasses and sins have been predestined to become exactly like him in every essential way. Let us praise His holy name.
Dear Heavenly Father, You loved me so much that You want me to conform to the image of Your son. You knew me before I was born, and You know my destiny. My heart is open to the work of the Holy Spirit in me. Please search every aspect of my life and remove any traits that are not in line with Jesus' beauty. Thank You for foreseeing this incredible transformation of my ugly character into His glorious likeness. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
