10 mins a day, closer to God.
Despite the difficulties Paul had faced while imprisoned in Rome, he found strength and contentment in the joy of the Lord. He reminds us that when we face difficulties in our lives, we can trust God to provide for us, to guide us, and to win the battles for us, just as He did for us in the battle against death. We can face whatever life throws at us with the strength we receive from the Lord Jesus Christ. When we chose to follow Jesus, we were given a new life, one that was infused with the Holy Spirit. It is impossible for us to do anything with our old, fallen, sinful selves. However, by the power of Christ, which flows into us, through us, and out of us, we can accomplish anything. With the Spirit of Christ living inside of us, we have the same strength that He had, with which He overcame death. Whatever challenges you are facing today, remember that Jesus is your source of strength. He is the one who leads, guides, and directs us to the truth. He is the source of our daily strength to endure the test. All things are made possible by Him. The circumstances we face are constantly changing, but God's power never ceases. We can always find strength in Him.
Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for the words of encouragement and the reminder that everything is possible through You. When faced with a challenge, I tend to rely on my own abilities and often get frustrated when things do not go as planned. Teach me to rely on you in those times because I can do nothing without You. Give me Your Spirit to enable me to carry out Your will for my life. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
2 Corinthians 2:14
Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.
Romans 8:37
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Psalms 60:12
With God we shall do valiantly; it is he who will tread down our foes.
Hebrews 11:7
By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
