Micah genuinely wants to know what God requires from him when he faces Him. So do we. Like Micah, we often wonder: will the Lord be pleased if I bring more offerings to the church? Does He require sacrifices from me? Do I receive more blessings if I go to church every Sunday and attend bible studies as often as possible? God says, "No, I'm not interested in your gifts, your words, or even your most prized possessions. I want you to do justice, to love others with mercy, and to walk humbly with me.” These three actions are neither suggestions nor options. They are “requirements” to each of us. First, we are required to "do justly". We live in a broken world - flawed and rife with injustice. Being just means not remaining silent when others are abused, mistreated, in need, scorned, or exploited. It is our duty to speak for those who have no voice and to keep honoring what is right. Second, we are required to "love mercy". God has shown us mercy by not giving us the punishment and justice we deserve. We have no reason not to extend the same mercy to others. When we see a need, pain, loss, discrimination, bias, fear, or wrongdoing, we should respond with mercy, just as God has shown us mercy. Last but not least, God requires us to walk humbly with Him. The ultimate example of humility is Jesus. As followers of Him, we are called to live humbly. We must set aside our selfish desires and align ourselves with God's will. Seek Him in everything we do and rely fully on Him and His wisdom. We can do nothing without Him, but we can do anything with Him. The Lord has told us what He requires of us. Are you ready to take action?
Dear Heavenly Father, I hear Your desires and instructions. Help me to remember them every day and walk humbly with You. Thank You for sending us Jesus as the perfect example of righteous living. Help me to extend mercy, to show love, and to act in ways that are right and just in this world, just as You have shown me. May Your Spirit refresh, renew, and empower me today. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.

Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.

For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
