Suffering for righteousness’ sake is not something to fear, but rather, it is a cause for joy. This verse teaches us that when we suffer for doing what is right, we are blessed by God. The world may try to intimidate us with terror or trouble, but God promises peace to those who stand firm in faith. This peace is not the absence of suffering, but the presence of God in the midst of it, assuring us that He is in control and that our suffering will not be in vain. We are called to endure with courage and joy, knowing that God is pleased with our commitment to righteousness. Worship, in this context, becomes an act of courage, where we choose to rejoice in the midst of suffering, trusting that God is working in us and through us. Even in times of trial, we can experience His peace, which guards our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Revelation 2:10
Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried.
John 15:25
But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.
John 15:18
If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
Acts 5:41
And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.
