“For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God.” This verse reminds us of the purpose behind Christ’s suffering: He died to bring us to God. Jesus, the just one, suffered in our place—the unjust—and through His death, we are reconciled to God. The resurrection is the ultimate confirmation of this reconciliation. Because Christ is risen, we know that our sins have been forgiven, and we have access to the Father. The resurrection assures us that the work of redemption is complete, and that we are no longer separated from God. It is a powerful reminder of the love and grace of God, who provided the way for us to be brought back into a relationship with Him. The resurrection is the proof that Jesus’ work on the cross was successful, and through it, we are brought into the presence of God.
