All who live godly in Christ Jesus will face persecution, but this suffering is not in vain. Living according to God’s will often brings opposition from the world, but this verse assures us that we are not alone in our suffering. Christ Himself suffered, and He equips us to endure as well. Persecution is a reminder that we are aligning ourselves with the will of God, and through it, we are made more like Christ. Our suffering is a participation in His, and it strengthens our faith and character. This verse calls us to expect suffering as part of the journey, but to endure it with joy and hope, knowing that it is through suffering that we grow in our relationship with Christ. Worship in these times becomes an act of steadfastness, where we commit to living godly lives, knowing that God will honor our faithfulness and that the reward for enduring persecution is great.
