Inspiration
Fasting is a way of preparing oneself for the work that God has called us to do. As Barnabas and Saul ministered to the Lord, the Holy Spirit spoke to them, leading them to separate for the work to which they were called. In this moment, fasting became a means of receiving divine guidance and confirming God’s call. Fasting was not a mere ritual but a spiritual discipline that enabled them to align themselves with God’s purpose. The act of fasting clears away distractions and makes space for the Holy Spirit to guide and direct. In our own lives, fasting can be a powerful tool for seeking God’s guidance in our ministries, vocations, and personal lives. It is in these quiet moments of devotion that we hear the voice of God clearly, directing us toward the work He has prepared for us. Just as Saul and Barnabas were set apart for a specific mission, fasting allows us to tune in to God’s specific call, refining our hearts and minds to do His will with clarity and obedience.
