True transformation involves humility and a willingness to decrease so that Christ may increase. This verse, spoken by John the Baptist, expresses the heart of one who understands that Christ must be the center of everything. In our lives, transformation occurs as we relinquish our own desires, ambitions, and pride, allowing Christ to take His rightful place as Lord. This process requires self-denial and surrender, as we acknowledge that we are nothing apart from Christ. The more we decrease, the more Christ increases in us, shaping us into His image. True humility comes from recognizing that all glory and honor belong to God alone, and our role is to reflect His greatness, not our own. This transformation requires a daily decision to humble ourselves before God, putting His will above our own.
Ephesians 4:22
That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts.
Colossians 3:10
And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him.
1 Corinthians 15:53
For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
Ephesians 4:24
And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
