In this verse, Jesus prepares His followers for the persecution and hatred they will face for His name’s sake. He warns that the world will hate them because of their allegiance to Him. Christ has overcome the world, and our hope is in Him. We can endure suffering with joy and peace, knowing that our identity is secure in Christ and that our eternal reward far outweighs the temporary hardships we may face.
