Aspiring to greatness in God’s Kingdom requires a willingness to serve. This verse highlights the principle that those who desire to be great must first become servants. True leadership is defined by a heart willing to serve, to place others before oneself, and to lead with humility. When we serve others, we show them the love of Christ, building relationships grounded in respect and kindness. This principle challenges the world’s view of greatness, which often focuses on self-promotion and power. Instead, we are called to lead through acts of service, lifting others up and encouraging them in their faith. Leadership in the Kingdom of God is about using one’s position and influence to serve others, making a lasting impact by showing the love of Christ in tangible ways. It is through servanthood that we become true leaders in God’s eyes.
Hebrews 2:8
Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.

For an overseer, as God’s steward, must be above reproach.
Proverbs 29:2
When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice.
Titus 2:7
In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity.
