Inspiration
Proverbs 15:5 teaches, “A fool despiseth his father's instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.” Reproof is not a sign of punishment but a gift—a chance to learn, grow, and improve. The fool, who despises instruction, is too proud or stubborn to accept correction, thinking that their way is the right way. In doing so, they miss out on the growth that comes from correction. The prudent person, on the other hand, not only listens to correction but values it as a way to refine their character. Reproof might not always feel pleasant, but it is a tool used by God to sharpen us, much like a blade that needs to be honed to be most effective. Wisdom is not just in gaining knowledge but in being humble enough to accept correction and use it to become better, more refined people who reflect God's character.
