God's forgiveness is vast, far-reaching, and unending. The Bible tells us that our transgressions are removed from us as far as the east is from the west. This imagery reflects the boundless grace and mercy of God. When we come to Him with repentant hearts, He does not hold our past sins against us. Instead, He offers us complete forgiveness, wiping away the shame and guilt that once weighed us down. This is the freedom that Christ offers us—freedom from the burden of sin, and peace with God. The removal of our transgressions signifies not only forgiveness but also healing and restoration. As we embrace this forgiveness, we are empowered to extend the same grace to others. Forgiving others, as God forgives us, allows us to live in peace and harmony, releasing the weight of resentment and embracing the freedom that comes with God’s grace.
Luke 17:3
If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him, and if he repent, forgive him.
1 Peter 3:9
Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
Matthew 6:12
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
Matthew 18:21
Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
