The sparrow and swallow finding a home near God’s altar symbolize the peace, security, and presence that God offers to His creation. These birds, which might seem small or insignificant, are given a place of safety and provision in the presence of God. Just as these birds find shelter and security near the altar, so too do we, as believers, find our refuge in God’s presence. This verse serves as a reminder that no matter how small or vulnerable we may feel, God provides us with a place to rest and dwell with Him. It calls us to seek God’s presence as our true home, where we find security, peace, and love. Just as the birds are near the altar, we are invited to draw near to God, knowing that He welcomes us into His presence and provides for our every need.

Matthew 6:26
Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
Psalm 147:9
He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.
