“He was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.” This verse emphasizes the connection between the death and resurrection of Jesus. His death on the cross paid the penalty for our sins, and His resurrection assures us that God accepted that sacrifice. Through His resurrection, Jesus justified us—declaring us righteous before God. The resurrection affirms that Jesus’ work on the cross was completed and accepted by the Father. Because He was raised, we too are justified. We are no longer condemned but are declared righteous because of what Christ has done. The resurrection is the vindication of Jesus’ work, and through His resurrection, we are brought into right relationship with God.
